16th Annual Crown Awards Gala. Bold science. Better health. An evening to celebrate extraordinary medical breakthroughs and the support of our partners in philanthropy.

The Crown Awards Gala

On November 17, more than 400 benefactors, faculty, and friends of the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) came together to celebrate the 16th Annual Crown Awards Gala, at The Glasshouse in New York City. The Gala raised nearly $1.7 million to support VP&S’s breakthrough work in biomedical research, education, and patient care.

VP&S Research Mission in Action

Hosted by Katrina Armstrong, MD, (Executive Vice President for Health and Biomedical Sciences and Dean of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons), and Roy Vagelos, MD, (Chair, VP&S Board of Advisors), and featuring remarks by Claire Shipman (Acting President of Columbia University), the focus this year was on “Bold Science. Better Health.” In this spirit, the Crown Award was given to the researchers and clinicians of VP&S in honor of the medical breakthroughs they are achieving every day. On their behalf, the award was accepted by Roy and Diana Vagelos.
